College & Career Connections in the Carthage Community (C5)

2023-2028: $1,500,000

The C5 Grant (College & Career Connections in the Carthage Community) supports students in grades K-12. The main objective of this grant is to create, build and maintain community partnerships while ultimately increasing students achievement. This grant embraces the Community Schools model in which Carthage Central School District serves as the hub of our community. Ultimately, students will have the ability to "try on a career" before they embark on the next chapter of their lives.

Funding is utilized to provide:

A Community Schools Coordinator, a career focused afterschool program for students in grades 1-4, summer career camps for students in grades 6-12 and other college and career opportunities for students.

RISE Up Project

2022-2027: $1,250,000

The RISE (Reading, Instructional Support & Enrichment) Up Project supports students in grades K-8. The main objective of this grant is to research, create and implement a Multi Tiered System of Support (MTSS) Framework to support students academically, emotionally, and socially in their daily school programs, ultimately increasing students achievement, attendance, and school connections. The focus area for improvement is in literacy.

Funding is utilized to provide:

Professional Development and literacy materials for K-8, implement a facilitator for MTSS and Literacy as well as offer a literacy rich summer program for students.

Engineering is Found Everywhere

2019-2024: $750,000

The Carthage-Engineering is Found Everywhere Grant supports students in grades K-8. The main objective of this grant is to increase math achievement of our students, as measured by results on the state exams in grades 3-8.

Funding is utilized to provide:

Professional Development and math materials, STEM Specialist/Teacher for K-8, MS Elective - Global STEM, Classroom Experience, Engineering Adventure Kits and After School Programming
